They Are Doing It

I am so gone.
Beaten dead by empty promises,
Kicked to the ground by broken dreams.
Broken wishes
Broken loves.
Destroyed by words that picked me apart.
Words that tore at my flesh, and drank my blood.
They hollowed me out,
Sucked me dry of hopes,
Of wishes,
Of fate.
They turned me to nothing,
Pecked out my eyes
Forever blinding me from the truth.

Shoo them away,
Shoot them dead.
Destroy them before they destroy me
From the inside out.
Not sure about this poem

There were a few notably nice lines in this that really added to the poem that I'd like to point out!

Kicked to the ground by broken dreams.

Words that tore at my flesh, and drank my blood.
They hollowed me out,
Sucked me dry of hopes,

Pecked out my eyes
Forever blinding me from the truth.

These are great examples of using concrete and abstract imagery together to make good poetry! Very nice! :D
Also, the repitition you use

Broken wishes
Broken loves.

Of wishes,
Of fate.

is very familiar to me! It's also a technique I tend to use a lot in my pieces, so obviously I like something like that. =P I wonder if we both acquired it from the same author, but I wouldn't know because I don't know where I got it from myself. xD

So, yeah, very nice! :D If I can offer a more advanced critique, I'd try in the future to try to be a little less vague. Try avoiding words like "they" without specifically defining what "they" are. Generally speaking, a poem should have enough information in it so that a reader who doesn't know you will be able to read the piece and know what the poem is about with a bit of analysis (though obviously every reader is going to have their own interpretation).

Again, really nice piece! I think you should probably start trying to look into some local publications to publish some of your work in, you're good enough now. :D And if you ever need/want an editor, I'll be happy to help! xD
